• Christ and Church Life and Building Spirit and Bride

    As a lover of Christ and a pursuer of truth, I write down my joys, memories and reflections.

    May God lead us all into the secret of His presence, and build us into the oneness of His body in love.

3 Idenetities of New Testament believers

Mat. 25: 44 Then they also will answer, saying, Lord, when have we seen You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to You?

2Cor3:6 Who has also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant, ministers not of the letters but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Eph. 3:7 Of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God which was given to me according to the operation of His power.

We are the ministers of God. Ministering basically means serving not only spiritually but also practically. According to Matthew 25:44, we minister to God when helping others in their hunger, nakedness, sickness, or prison. In the Old Testament, only privileged ones are allowed to minister to God, but in the New Testament, we are privileged to serve and minister God…

1 Peter 2:4-5 Coming to Him, a living stone, rejected by men but with God chosen and precious, You yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house into a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired for a possession, so that you may tell out the virtues of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

According to the above verses, we are chosen and purchased for a special purpose, which is to be His possession and priesthood. Priests are the ones who offer sacrifices to God on the offering alter in the tabernacle or in the temple. Spiritually speaking, we are the priests of God offering Christ as the all-inclusive offering to God for His satisfaction.

1 Cor. 14:31-32 For you can all prophesy one by one that all may learn and all may be encouraged. And the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets;

It is mysterious yet assured that God wants to speak for and forth Him. In the Old Testament, God had spoken in many ways to the fathers in the prophets; now in the New Testament, He is speaking to us in the Son. And the Son is the Spirit living in us and giving life to us. Since every believer has received the Spirit, each has received this excellent gift of prophesying for the building up of the church.
