    基督與召會
    生命與建造
    那靈與新婦

As a lover of Christ and a pursuer of truth, I write down my joys, memories and reflections.

The ten titles of the Spirit

1. The Holy Spirit
Never used in the Old Testament, The name Holy Spirit was first introduced when God was operating to prepare the forerunner for the Lord Jesus and to prepare a human body for Christ, indicating that the Holy Spirit is related to His incarnation. The word Spirit indicates the essence of God; the word Holy indicates the attributes of God. Incarnation is about bringing the divinity into humanity.

Matthew
1:18 Now the origin of Jesus Christ was in this way: His mother, Mary, after she had been engaged to Joseph, before they came together, was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit.
1:20 But while he pondered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife, for that which has been begotten in her is of the Holy Spirit.
28:19 “Go therefore and disciple all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

In the New Testament, the usage of the Spirit of God is common, but the usage of the Spirit of Jesus is special, pointing out the Spirit of the Savior in His becoming the flesh and humanity. The usage of the terms “the Spirit of God” was quite common. First of all, the Spirit of God is God Himself in actuality. Secondly, the Spirit of God is the God reaching us and be applied to us.

Matthew 10:20 “For you are not the ones speaking, but the Spirit of your Father is the One speaking in you.”

4. The Spirit of the Lord

The Spirit of the Lord is the Spirit of Jehovah. The name Jesus in the New Testament is equivalent to the name Jehovah in the Old Testament. Hence, the Spirit of Jehovah is the Spirit of the Lord.

The Spirit of Christ is related to the Lord’s death and resurrection. The Lord’s death is the all-inclusive ending, the His resurrection is the all-inclusive beginning.

8. The Spirit of Jesus Christ
This is not only the Spirit of God before the incarnation of the Lord, but also the Spirit of God after the resurrection of the Lord.
Phi. 1:19 “For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,”
John 7:39 “But this He said concerning the Spirit, whom those who believed into Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.”

9. The Lord Spirit
In the New Testament, the Spirit is also called the Lord Spirit. Such compound noun strongly indicates that Lord Christ is the Spirit, and the Spirit is the Lord Christ. In His resurrection, the Lord became the pneumatic Christ.
2 Cor 3:18 “But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.”
