• Christ and Church Life and Building Spirit and Bride

As a lover of Christ and a pursuer of truth, I write down my joys, memories and reflections.

May God lead us all into the secret of His presence, and build us into the oneness of His body in love.

According to the pattern which was shown in the mountain

The type and symbol of the tabernacle, one of the most profound truth revealed in the Bible,  is multi-fold.

First of all, the earthly and historical tabernacle typifies the heavenly and true one.  The priest, furniture, and utensils of the first were merely example of the ones in the true tabernacle, whose the Minister is the ascending Christ.

Secondly,  the tabernacle typifies how God intended to co-work with men to build the mutual abode, in which God and men dwell together. The picture is being and will be fulfilled in, as, and by the church.

Thirdly, the tabernacle also types us humans as the tripartite being. The outer court, the holy place, and the Holy of holies, typifies our body, soul, and spirit, respectively. Experientially speaking, our going, contacting and serving of the Lord must first be initiated at the outer court, continued by entering the Holy Place through the first veil, and consummated by entering the Holy of Holies through the second veil. We need to learn to find and meet the Lord in the Holy of Holies, the dwelling and hiding place of the most High. Amazingly, today our spirit is the very Holy of Holies, and we are, unmistakably and undoubtedly, the temple of God.

Seeing the profoundness of what is typifies, we may understand how important the tabernacle should be built according to the pattern which was shown to Moses in the mountain.

Praise the Lord for the type of the tabernacle!

25:8-9 And let them make a sanctuary for Me that I may dwell in their midst. According to all that I show you, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its utensils, even so you shall make it.

25:40 And see that you make them according to their pattern, which was shown to you in the mountain.

7:44 The tabernacle of testimony was with our fathers in the wilderness, even as He who spoke to Moses instructed him to make it, according to the pattern which he had seen.

8:1-2 Now in the things which are being said the chief point is this: We have such a High Priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, A Minister of the holy places, even of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.

8:5 Who serve the example and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to complete the tabernacle; for, “See,” He said, “that you make all things according to the pattern that was shown to you in the mountain.”

9:11-12 But Christ, having come as a High Priest of the good things that have come into being, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not of this creation, And not through the blood of goats and calves but through His own blood, entered once for all into the Holy of Holies, obtaining an eternal redemption.

9:23 It was necessary therefore for the examples of the things in the heavens to be purified by these, but the heavenly things themselves, by better sacrifices than these.
