• Christ and Church Life and Building Spirit and Bride

    基督與召會
    生命與建造
    那靈與新婦

As a lover of Christ and a pursuer of truth, I write down my joys, memories and reflections.

May God lead us all into the secret of His presence, and build us into the oneness of His body in love.

The scriptural basis on Jesus Christ is God

First of all, the Bible is very clear that there is only one God.  There is no other God. There were messagers of God, slave of God, and even sons of God, but there is only one God, and He became a Man named Jesus.

1 Corinthian 8:6

Yet to us there is one God, the Father, out from whom are all things, and we are unto Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we are through Him.

Two of many verses from the Old Testament (before Jesus was born)

Isaiah 9:6-7

For a child is born to us, A son is given to us; And the government Is upon His shoulder; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. To the increase of His government And to His peace there is no end, Upon the throne of David And over His kingdom, To establish it And to uphold it In justice and righteousness From now to eternity. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts Will accomplish this.

Micah 5:2

(But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, So little to be among the thousands of Judah, From you there will come forth to Me He who is to be Ruler in Israel; And His goings forth are from ancient times, From the days of eternity.)

This verse prophesizes the birth place of Jesus (who was born in Bethlehem). The word eternity is a special word exclusively reserved for God because there is nothing eternal other than God.

Some of the many verses from the New Testament

Matthew 1:23

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel” (which is translated, God with us).

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us (and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and reality.

If you read John 1:1 and 1:14 together, you will see that Jesus was the Word and the Word became flesh, and lived among us.

John 20:28

Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God!

Acts 20:28

Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among whom the Holy Spirit has placed you as overseers to shepherd the church of God, which He obtained through His own blood.

(The blood of Christ is the blood of God. Hence Christ is God.)

Romans 9:5

Whose are the fathers, and out of whom, as regards what is according to flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

Hebrews 1:5-14

For to which of the angels has He (God) ever said, “You are My Son; this day have I begotten You”? And again, “I will be a Father to Him, and He will be a Son to Me”? And when He brings again the Firstborn into the inhabited earth, He says, “And let all the angels of God worship Him.” And of the angels He says, “Who makes His angels winds and His ministers a flame of fire”; But of the Son, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom…. And, “You in the beginning, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Your hands;

1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we might know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Revelation 1:4-8

John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is coming, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, And from Jesus Christ, the faithful Witness, the Firstborn of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has released us from our sins by His blood And made us a kingdom, priests to His God and Father, to Him be the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.

Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the land will mourn over Him. Yes, amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, He who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.

Additional Reference: These have no direct indication that Jesus is God but still are good reads for His honor and majesty.

Colossians 1:15-20
Who is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation, Because in Him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or lordships or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and unto Him. And He is before all things, and all things cohere in Him; And He is the Head of the Body, the church; He is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that He Himself might have the first place in all things;

1 Timothy 3:16
And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.

1 Timothy 6:14-16
To keep the commandment spotless, without reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, Which in its own times the blessed and only Sovereign will show, the King of those who reign as kings and Lord of those who rule as lords, Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen nor can see, to whom be honor and eternal might. Amen.

Jude 1:24-25
To the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory, majesty, might, and authority before all time and now and unto all eternity. Amen. The revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave to Him to show to His slaves the things that must quickly take place; and He made it known by signs, sending it by His angel to His slave John,
