Why the name lambfollower?
Revelation 14:1-5
And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him a hundred and forty-four thousand, having His name and the name of His Father written on their foreheads. … And they sing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one could learn the song except the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been purchased from the earth. These are they who have not been defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are they who follow the Lamb wherever He may go. These were purchased from among men as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth no lie was found; they are without blemish.
About the author’s faith statements
- I believe there is only one true and living God.
- I believe God is Triune: God the Father, the Son and the Spirit. The three are distinct yet inseparable.
- I believe Jesus Christ is complete God incarnated as a genuine human being and lived on earth 2000 years ago.
- I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sinful nature and our sinful deeds.
- I believe Jesus Christ resurrected after 3 days.
- I believe Jesus Christ became the life-giving spirit, teaching us all the realities and imparting His life into us.
- I believe Jesus Christ will return one day to judge the world and believers.
About the author
A sojourner on the earth (specifically and temporarily in North California),
A Christian in his 20s (spiritual age unknown, estimated between 6-12),
A member of the universal church (the same one that Apostle Paul is in).
Spiritually speaking, I hope to be
a follower of the Lamb wherever He may go,
an avid lover of God, a pursuer of Christ,
a diligent student of the Bible, a dedicated seeker of the truth,
a rejoicing preacher of the gospel, a loving shepherd of His sheep,
a faithful slave to the Master, a functioning member of the body,
growing in life, constituted with the truth,
loving my brothers, staying in the oneness, and
waiting for His return and kingdom.
Earthly speaking, I am
a software engineer, an amateur of a couple things,
a librarian who don’t always read his books,
a dreamer who don’t always put things into practice,
a traveler who hasn’t gone to many places,
a commuter by bike and train across the peninsula,
a listener of good music, and a consumer of lots of coffee.
About the origin of this blog:
After a Christian conference in 2004, I began to know the Lord in a real and experiential way. As starting to read the Bible, I was bubbling with enjoyments and reflections, desiring to share with others. Eventually I settled on blogging. I have been switching between platforms to platforms, and in year 2008, I finally decided on WordPress. Anyway, that was the humble origin of this blog.
About the language of this blog
Firstly I want to apologize for the bilingual nature of this blog (English and Chinese). This is partly because it started as a personal journal or information portal for which myself was the only reader. It maybe too late to pick one language now, but I do consider which language would be more appropriate post-by-post.
About the themes of this blog
Though having many categories, tabs, and posts, this blog can categorized into 3 main themes: truth, experience, and literature. The first is mostly about my study note on essential topics of the Bible and Christian orthodoxy. The second are mostly my prayers, reflections, or records of experiences. The third include testimonies, church history, classic work of notable Christians, and some interesting articles.
